Chicago Actor Headshot Resources
The main purpose of an actor's headshot is identification. Therefore, the most important feature of an actor's headshot is that it represents the subject.
Actor's headshots should be clear; theatrical headshots are usually very "neutral" looking shots of the actor clearly showing their facial features.
Headshots are intended to show a person as they currently are (age, look, style, etc.) and reflect their best qualities.
As an individual who has served as a professional actor, director, producer & casting director for stage, film, and television, I truly understand the importance of a headshot for the working performer. I comprehend the industry and what is required to provide you with the quintessential marketing tool - the headshot.
Hair and makeup artists are third party freelancers and not employees or representatives of Ashland Thomas Photography. You are welcome to bring your own or hire a recommended artist from my roster. If you bring your own artist, the same guidelines will apply regarding time constraints and scheduling. If you hire an artist with me, payment may be handled through me or it may be requested directly from the artist. Rates and services provided by hair and makeup artists occasionally change or may require additional time or payment based on the needs of the talent (you).
